Watch See computer virus in action as it's happening - Antivirus Live Video See computer virus in action as it's happening - Antivirus Live

Mom got hit with yet another computer virus, so this time I caught it happening on video so that everyone can see what it is actually doing and how it looks, should you get it too. This one was the antivirus live trojan/virus. It was really nasty as well. I had to end up running the roadkill program in order to stop the virus from running, just so that I could run the malwarebytes program to get rid of the thing. These viruses are very deceptive in that they look just like microsoft windows security programs running. So you need to be very careful when you see these.

More information on computer virus, computer support and network security can be found at www.tworivertech.com We're a network security company located here in Shrewsbury NJ. In the next 5 minutes I'm going to give you a set of behaviors that you can start using right now in your company to dramatically reduce the possibility of a virus or other computer-born threat being able to successfully attack your network. The great news about this is it won't cost you a dime. So let's get started. The first thing you need to know about viruses is the way that they arrive and the way that they spread. There's typically two ways that this happen 1. By email attachment 2. By web browsing Let's cover each of these in some detail. First email. The only way for a virus to spread by email is through an attachment. The attachment will be some sort of executable file which, when run, does something bad including spreading itself. It used to be that the only way this would happen would be by having files which end in .exe or .bat or .com. But now, it's much easier than that because many more files will allow some sort automated programming where the bad guys can attach their malware. For example, Word documents can run scripts. So can Excel. So the virus spreads or attacks when someone unwittingly double clicks on the attachment. Second, let's cover the web browsing aspect. Viruses can attack through something called the cache. Exactly how they do this is beyond the scope of this video. But ...

Skip to 0:33 to begin. An interesting look at computer viruses from the popular program The Computer Chronicles from 1989. Some viruses discussed include the Morris Worm, Jerusalem, and a few Macintosh viruses, like Scores. Also examined are a number of antivirus products from the time, and their effectiveness as well as their approaches towards stopping the growing virus menace. They also test a DOS virus on camera. It's like looking at my channel 20 years ago. I figured some of you might enjoy looking back at the history of the antivirus industry, as well as thoughts and opinions from affected users when viruses were still a brand new threat. Watch Virus.Win9x.CIH Destroying a Physical Computer Video Virus.Win9x.CIH Destroying a Physical Computer
May 21, 2012
The long awaited video of CIH trashing a standalone PC's BIOS and rendering the computer unable to boot. This video comes fourteen years to the date after CIH first unleashed its devastating payload upon the world. When CIH infects files, it checks to see whether there are enough gaps to completely store its code, rather than simply writing its code to the end of the file and increasing file size. If it has enough space, CIH will infect the file without increasing file size. If it does not, CIH will ignore the file, giving it better ability to further infect a user's computer without the user noticing anything. On April 26th (in the original variant), CIH activates, overwriting part of the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) and overwriting the first megabyte of all hard disks in an endless loop, causing the computer to crash. Once rebooted, the BIOS is corrupted and will no longer display anything on the screen or initiate the boot sequence, rendering the computer unusable. I realize RogueAmp does have a video of CIH doing this same thing, but now there is a video of it activating in HD and with narration, which I feel is invaluable to the whole experience. It's humbling to watch a piece of software bring an entire computer to its knees. Shoutout to my friend Wes (somefellow12345) who left one of the most amusing YouTube comments I've ever read on my old CIH video (which was done using a virtual machine).

To find and analyze new computer viruses, some computer security software firms have hundreds of analysts in their virus labs. At AVAST Software, we do it differently. avast! antivirus software users like yourself, if you don't opt out of our CommunityIQ virus detection system, automatically submit virus samples (potential ones, that is) from anything suspicious you encounter. When your avast! antivirus program's virus scanners notice anything that resembles computer virus symptoms, it sends a sample to us -- automatically and anonymously -- for a computer virus check. Every day we receive about 50000 anonymous samples that our systems then virus-test. After the virus analysis, whatever gets confirmed as a new virus goes into a computer virus information update that is sent automatically to all avast! users. Even users of avast! Free Antivirus software receive the same antivirus updates, and thus the same level of computer virus protection. And because we have hundreds of millions of users who depend on avast! antivirus protection for their internet safety... we don't quite need hundreds of analysts to provide you with the best system for computer virus detection and virus removal -- for the best overall computer protection. avast! ... be free (from latest computer viruses)
